Professional Communication and Leadership Mission Statement

The Public Communication and Leadership program at Westminster College embraces the goals of a liberal arts education by encouraging students to think critically and effectively respond in a variety of communication contexts, both public and private. Courses in the program are grounded in rhetorical theory and designed to illustrate through experiential study how this theory applies to communication in contemporary situations.

Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate knowledge of theories in communication and leadership and demonstrate application of those theories through praxis.

Exhibit knowledge in a variety of communication and leadership skills for application in interpersonal and group leadership in both the public and private sphere

Display competence in oral, written, and visual communication.
