Creative Media Production Mission Statement
The mission of the Creative Media Production program is to prepare students who are interested in video, design, storytelling, and creating for media. The program emphasizes hands-on, interactive learning through applied research and problem solving to create content for a variety of media, including advertising campaigns through print and video, publication design, branding, video production, and more. Experiences in this program address technical, creative, legal, and ethical principles to provide the opportunity for our students to become well-rounded leaders in media.
Creative Media Production (CMP) is used by organizations to reach target audiences through creative storytelling and the use of visual communication. CMP works to engage audiences through graphic elements, video and other visual imagery elements. It promotes creative and critical thinking. It challenges content creators to problem solve in a rapidly changing world shaped by information and advertising. CMP utilizes strategies from advertising, broadcasting, film, graphic design, and marketing public relations to foster skills and experiences in content production as well as media literacy.
