The aim of the Department of Physics is to help students develop an understanding of the fundamental laws and behaviors of the physical universe and to practice the techniques used by scientists in acquiring such an understanding.
An engineering physics major prepares students for employment as a general engineer, further graduate study in a specific engineering subfield, or completion of two bachelor’s degrees as part of a 3-2 Engineering (Physics) Track.

NOTE:
The All-College Honors Research Project does not replace the capstone requirement for students majoring in engineering physics, which is satisfied by their completion of MSE 611 Engineering Field Experience.
