HIS 207 - Indigenous Thinkers

This class will serve as an introduction to the field of Native American and Indigenous Studies. Students will read, watch, listen to, and discuss observations and opinions put forth by Indigenous thinkers from across history and around the world. The main emphasis of the class will be on understanding contemporary American Indian nations alongside understanding their histories. The majority of the people and places covered will be from North America, but many examples from other continents will also be discussed for comparative purposes.
