MTH 113 - Philosophy of Mathematics

Semester Hours: 4

Mathematics is deeply rooted in philosophical inquiry. In this course, we will discuss historical and modern perspectives on the philosophical foundations of mathematics. Topics will be chosen from logic, mathematical ways of knowing, existence of mathematical objects, mathematical paradoxes, and ethics in mathematics. This course is designed for a general audience, and no particular mathematical background is required.
