SED 411 - Legal Issues Assessment Semester Hours: 2
This course focuses on the analysis of legislation, litigation, and administrative rulings related to special education, and the development of legally sound policies and procedures to ensure an appropriate education for students with disabilities. Teacher candidates will become familiar with a variety of assessment instruments and techniques to use to instruct children who have disabilities in PreK-12 settings effectively. This course is part of the Special Education Teaching and Learning Laboratory and must be taken in combination with SED 462 Special Education Observation and Assessment - Practicum.
Prerequisite: Approved PDE Teacher Candidacy. Current PDE Clearances: PA Criminal History, Child Abuse History, FBI Criminal History, and PPD Testing.
