ART 208 - Introduction to Sculpture

This course is an introduction to utilizing sculpture as a three-dimensional vehicle for creative expression. The physical, spatial, and thematic properties of sculptural media are addressed through course projects. A range of materials and processes will be utilized in the course and may include wood, plaster, wax, metal, fabric, found materials, casting, site-specific, and installation. Materials and techniques are utilized that engage a range of tools, multi-step processes, and alterable materials.The course is designed for all skill levels. Meets Visual and Performing Arts Intellectual Perspective requirement (VP).
